Avannaa were hired during the Winter season of 2022 to assist in the 1st pass drill testing of high priority VTEM anomalies at two VHMS targets in northern Sweden, Bjurträskgruvan and Rockliden, as part of Mineral Prospektering i Sverige’s (MPS) drilling campaign.

Drilling was carried out from January until April, when it was forced to cease due to the Spring thaw. Avannaa were responsible for the logging of drill core and supervision of drilling operations when necessary. Regular feedback from Avannaa geologists enabled MPS staff to continuously alter their drill plan and use their budget for optimal results.

Results from Bjurtäskgruvan include, for example, 15.9m @ 1.96% Cu, 0.26g/t Au, 12.7g/t Ag, including 3.15m @ 5.00% Cu,0.53g/t Au, 22.8g/t Ag in one drillhole; or 17.5m @ 0.91% Cu, 0.42g/t Au, 16g/t Ag, 6.54% Zn, including 4.25m @ 0.81% Cu, 0.14g/t Au, 13.3g/t Ag, 14.15% Zn in another. It is believed that the widths of mineralisation are close to True Width. At Rockliden, one drillhole returned 12.5m @1.10% Cu, 16.2g/t Ag, 0.30% Zn and <0.005% Sb, including 3.30m @ 2.60% Cu,33.3g/t Ag, 0.38% Zn and <0.005% Sb. The widths of mineralisation, with regards to True Width, are not known at present but drilling was perpendicular to the VTEM geophysical target.‍

MPS and Atalaya Mining (LSX: ATYM) signed a Joint Venture agreement on 19th November, 2024. Avannaa Exploration Services look forward to the continued development of the Bjurträskgruvan and Rockliden deposits in this geologically complicated region.
